You will hardly ever find any SEO specialist worth their salt that will guarantee you results. This is not to say that you will not find people who will use the word guarantee in their conversations or emails with you. They are both good and in general, we often recommend to our clients who can afford it, to do both. The one main advantage that PPC has over SEO is that it can provide instant results, versus the sometimes lengthy timeframe that SEO can take as we discussed in point 2 above. The main (but not the only) advantage that SEO has over PPC is it’s sustainability. If you commit to spending $10 a month on an SEO project, you know that this is what you will continue to spend.
With PPC, you can start by spending $10 a month and bid $0.5 per click and you can reasonably predict the amount of traffic you will get. All it takes is for someone else with deeper pockets to come and spend $200 a month and bid $5 on the same keywords, thereby outbidding you.
You would then potentially or likely see a decrease in traffic and you would need to up your click bid and monthly spend to maintain the same amount of traffic you are used to getting.
